About Cafe Sandspit

We are a dedicated team of friendly staff, who are excited about taking over the Management of this gorgeous, local cafe. Who can complain about working in an environment that offers delicious food and stunning views over the sparkling, Hauraki Gulf? We aim to make your visit as enjoyable as possible, offering delicious meals and drinks.

Cafe Sandspit is open for breakfast at 9.00am and also offers an all-day menu of homemade dishes to tempt your appetite throughout the day.

We will soon be fully licensed and open again in the evenings for guests to enjoy the sunsets and soak in the tranquil setting. (Please note booking for evening dinner by midday on the day at latest is essential!)

Situated in the heart of the Matakana Wine region, where many boutique wineries are producing stunning local wines, we have selected wines from our most local producers and now offer you the opportunity to enjoy these at Cafe Sandspit (some are from vineyards less than 5km from the restaurant).

In addition to these locally produced wines, we offer a selection of organically produced wines from other regions of New Zealand.

Our food is freshly cooked to order and we offer a selection of seafood, vegetarian and meaty numbers.

We believe that kids should enjoy just as good food as everyone else and we are happy to prepare any dish on our menu as child friendly portions at a reduced price.

Pre-packed lunches can be ordered for day trips to Kawau Island – for groups, please be sure to pre-order, for individuals we can offer take-aways from our freshly prepared counter food.

For functions and private hire to celebrate your own special occasions we are very happy to discuss menus and requirements on an individual basis, so please don’t hesitate to ask.
